'IT’S PURE SADISM' HAMAS IS STARVING MY BROTHER

HAMAS TOOK MY BROTHER HOSTAGE. HE'S BEEN STARVED AND MADE TO WATCH OTHERS GET RELEASED. IT'S "SICK"!

On October 7, 2023, Evyatar David was kidnapped by Hamas from Israel’s Nova music festival. His two close friends were killed that day. Evyatar and his best friend, Guy Gilboa-Dalal, were dragged into Gaza and have been held hostage ever since.

Since that day, Evyatar’s brother, Ilay David, has fought tirelessly for his release. In this exclusive and heartbreaking interview with The MirYam Institute, Ilay shares the painful journey his family has endured.

In February 2025, Ilay’s family received a second proof of life film — a Hamas propaganda video showing Evyatar and Guy forced to watch other hostages being set free in a staged ceremony. Both men appeared frail, starved, and exhausted, while pleading for their lives. Here, Ilay describes the devastation of seeing his brother alive — but broken.

“They showed him freedom, then slammed the door in his face and threw him back in the dungeon. It’s sick. It’s pure sadism,” Ilay says.

As former hostages returned and shared their stories, Ilay learned even more about the horrific conditions Evyatar and Guy have faced:

— Months underground in Hamas tunnels

— Little food, barely any water

— Constant fear for their lives

With support from The MirYam Institute, Ilay works relentlessly to keep his brother’s story visible — even traveling to New York and Washington, D.C., to meet with U.S. lawmakers.

In this powerful interview, Ilay reminds us: The atrocities of October 7 haven’t ended. They continue every day for those still held captive in Gaza.

If you stand with the hostages and their families, please share this video and leave a comment.

Your voice can help bring them home.
